Abyssine
Abyssine is actually the main ingredient in a series of products. These products go by the name of Abyssine, and are brought to you by Kiehls. There are several items to choose from. There is a facial serum, facial cream, lotion, and eye cream. Whatever your focus, they seem to have a product for you. They are all based on the same formula but contain minor changes to the ingredients list. Let’s take a look to see how effective this base formula is.
Abyssine products all contain Abyssine. This is a molecule that is found in the depths of the ocean. It survives and thrives in vents where magma and seawater create the perfect environment of heat, pressure, and toxicity. It is supposed to help soothe and protect the skin. There have not been any studies done on its effectiveness.
Each formula also contains Corallina Extract. This is a mineral-rich form of algae that forms a gel. Its calcified shell is supposed to provide the skin with protection and moisture. This has been tested for safety by dermatologists, but has not been studied for its ability to reduce wrinkles.
Overall this product seems pretty safe. It has some good moisturizers, and may help to protect your skin from the sun. However, it will not help to reduce wrinkles. It does not contain any proven anti-aging ingredients, and should really be considered a series of moisturizers. We suggest that you look for products that contain peptides. Those are able to actually penetrate the skin and stimulate collagen so that you can really fight wrinkles. Although these products are cheaper than some, they are not able to provide real results.
